We put this together and mounted it on the wall without any problems at all. It is strong and looks very nice. My only wish after we put things in it for reading was that the top front wood slat wasn't so high. We have many sizes of magazines and small books we wanted to rotate in our bathroom for reading, but only the tall ones are easily pulled out. Smaller books, like Guideposts, are too short and can't be gotten out easily. It is made for the taller magazines, which it shows in the display picture, so keep that in mind.
